Lyne Marshall is influenced by the cycles of nature and its powerful ability to build and deconstruct the environment. Lyne travels often and in her studio seeks to create artworks from these life changing experiences. Stories will evolve in the layers of paint that portray the many qualities of design and colour perceived in the landscape.

Painted on the intriguing medium of aluminum these first two  artworks tell stories of wild places, where creatures dwell that are rarely seen. They are imaginary places, that hold mystery and magic and require you to look deeper into nature.

Looking across the sea to a wider sky gives one a sense of the vastness of the earth. Nature blends colour through the ever- changing light, creating a sense of mystery over the shifting waters.

While my artwork is usually not based on a particular area these acrylic paintings represent both the Aurora Australis often seen from Tasmania, and our Southern Highlands

My paintings are a culmination of discovering new places and ideas over many years. Travel to the distant places allows me to play with colour and composition. My paintings move with my mind. No two artworks are ever the same.

This painting reflects my love of the sea, something I inherited from my seafaring father and a long line of ancestors. The light reflects in special ways drawing us deeper into the depths of the painting and our souls.

Whenever I travel out of Australia, to cross the seas that hold the history of my ancestors, I see the layers that reflect the depth of all our lives. We are surrounded by waters which can bring  healing to us all.
